Lost Dutchman will be 2008 Black Marathoner's Event
The National Black Marathoners' Association has selected the Seventh Annual Lost Dutchman Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 8K Trail Run, and 2-Mile Run/Walk for its 2008 Event. Tony Reed, NBMA's Executive Director, says, "We are very excited about running this scenic course and having a great, fun-filled weekend. It's Official! Lost Dutchman's the "Best of the Rep"! PASTA DINNER: The Pasta Dinner will be held Saturday, February 16, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Apache Junction, Multigenerational Center , 1035 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction, AZ 85219.
Tickets are limited and will be available in advance at the door of the Expo.
AID STATIONS: Aid stations on the marathon course will begin at mile 2 and will continue approximately every 2 miles to the 20 mile mark. From miles 21 through 26 there will be an aid station every mile. Water will be available at every aid station. A sports drink will be available at every other aid station starting with the four mile station.
Hammer Nutrition is the official energy gel of LDM this year and will be available at the 10 and 18 mile aid stations. Click on the Hammer logo for more information about all their excellant products. Fruit, Vaseline, and Advil will be available at some of the aid stations.
The energy drink available on the course is lemon-lime Gatorade (Gatorade is not a sponsor of this event). We recommend that if you are going to use any products other than water during the race that you use them during training to ensure they enhance your performance and do not upset your stomach. Half marathoners and 10K runners will be using the last 6 aid stations on the marathon course. There will be 1 aid station on the 8K trail run with water only.

AWARDS: All Marathon and Half Marathon finishers and the first 300 10K and 8k finishers receive a beautiful medal from Lost Dutchman.
