Join us on Sunday, February 15, 2009, in Austin, Texas for the 18th annual Austin Marathon and Half Marathon! The race starts and finishes in downtown Austin and you'll get a perfect tour of our beautiful city. Is the Austin Marathon a Boston qualifier?
Yes. Times run in one year can be used for qualifying for the Boston Marathon in the same year, provided they have not reached their cap after the conclusion of the Austin Marathon. Times run in one year can also be used for the following year's Boston Marathon.

Can I run both the half marathon and the marathon?
No. You must be registered for either the marathon OR the half marathon.
Do you allow walkers in the marathon and half marathon?
Yes, walkers are encouraged as long as they are able to complete the course within the cutoff time. The marathon course will remain open and completely supported for seven hours. That's a 16 minute per mile pace. The half marathon course will remain open and completely supported for four hours. That's a 19 minute per mile pace.
When and where is the packet pickup and the race expo?
All runners must go to the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon Health & Fitness Expo to pick up their packets. Hours for the expo are Friday, February 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Expo is located at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd. in Austin, TX. If you are unable to pick up your packet on the Expo days you can have a friend pick up your packet for you.
Does the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon allow headphones?
Yes. USA TRACK & FIELD, the governing body of running events, recently amended the rule prohibiting headphones to allow them in non-championship events.
