Course Information:
The Fredericton Marathon (42.2km - 26.2 miles) attracts runners from across North America to Fredericton to enjoy the flat and fast course on the trails along the majestic Saint John and Nashwaak Rivers.

The Marathon and Marathon Relay will start on Queen Street adjacent to Officers Square. It will proceed up Queen St. passing Carleton, York, Westmorland and pass by the Legion on the right as it approaches Ste. Anne’s Point Drive where it will come back around to Regent and Queen and turn right onto Queen St. At this point you have completed approx 2.4 km.

Passing through the start line the course takes a right onto Carleton St and then proceeds directly to the Pedway where you will experience a small upgrade. From the Pedway you may see below you St. Anne’s point Dr which you recently exited. As you leave the Pedway ramp you will turn right and head down river to the Walking Bridge which takes you over the beautiful Saint John River which will be full of flood waters at this time of year.

After crossing the Walking Bridge you will follow the trail straight out to the turnaround point just before the old Penniac Train Bridge. Reversing direction the course comes back the same way you went out until it reaches the Pedway.

Marathoners pass under the Pedway and reach the next aid station and the ½ way point. The course countinues upriver, following the trail to the Delta Hotel. Here runners transfer to the sidewalk along the Woodstock road for about a kilometre, before crossing the intersection of Woodstock Road and Golf Club Road onto the Valley Trail. In another kilometre, the Valley Trail crosses the Woodstock Road once again where it continues upstream past Harts Island and the Bucket Club (there's a small hill here) to Silverwood - turning a bit past the former Silverwood lift station area.

Here Marathoners turn-around and traverse the same path back into town and cross the Pedway, and sprint down the parking lot behind the Fredericton Public Library to the finish at Officers Square.
