Course Information:
Imagine a brisk spring morning with the excitement building as the start of the 2nd Annual 26.2 mile marathon in Lancaster County, PA approaches. It all kicks off on the 104 acre campus of Garden Spot Village adjacent to New Holland in north eastern Lancaster County.
The race starts by the Legacy Garden and travels east for about 2 miles. It then circles around west through the Amish farmlands at the foot of the Welsh Mountain for approximately 12 miles before looping back to campus. During this time of year the scenery is amazing, the farmers are tilling the fields with horse drawn plows and there are sure to be horse and buggies about.
This is a run for everyone whether you are a beginner, experienced, leisure or competitive runner. There is plenty of space available for family, friends and spectators. Don't miss this exciting time! This is a beautiful course through country farmlands. There will be road closures the first five miles. Traffic is expected to be minimal but we will be sharing the roads with traffic. Expect to see horse and buggies. Please run on the left side of the road facing oncoming traffic. Every precaution is being taken for runner and traffic safety. There will be cones marking the course every 2/10ths of a mile. Event staff will be stationed at as many turns as possible and every turn will be clearly marked. Fire police will be slowing traffic at the more significant intersections.
