Course Information:
A race with a great mix of fast single track, open jeep trails, cool valleys and amazing views. Head out under the Aspens and climb into the Juniper and Ponderosa Pine trees. The single-loop course starts and ends at Shevlin Park, an amazing 650 acre park five minutes from downtown Bend...and it's 99% on dirt! The marathon has 2500 feet in elevation gain and the half marathon has 1300 feet of elevation gain. The race is entering its fifth year so we have the course pretty dialed in. All of the elevation gain for both races is in the first half of the race. Both course are fun, scenic and challenging.
1. Route starts and ends in Aspen Meadows at Shevlin Park
2. Follow the service road (paved for 3/4 mile). Pass the covered bridge - take the next left onto Forest Service Road and loop back for .10 of a mile onto Tumalo Creek Trail and back to Aspen Meadows
3. Cross the footbridge and go up switch-backs to the Tumalo Loop Trail
4. Enter Forest Service Road (right) and run to gate (approximately 3 miles)
5. Right onto Forest Service Road 4606
7. 6. Left on Forest Service Road 4609 for approximately 6 miles
8. Road takes a 170 degree turn to the right and follow up the hill to the Bridget Creek Burn (still FS 4601)
9. Follow 4601 to intersection at Mrazek and Forest Service Road 700 - take a right on Mrazek Trail
10. Follow Mrazek all the way back to Aspen Meadows in Shevlin Park
