Race Information:
From the beautiful lakefront course (along scenic Lake Michigan) to the fantastic Kenosha parks and downtown area, runners were greeted to a fast, fun and picturesque marathon from start to exciting finish.
The marathon and half marathon course will once again share the same roads thru 11.5 miles. This allows participants of both races to share the sights and sounds of the beautiful Lake Michigan coastline. Both courses will take runners through downtown Kenosha and past area parks and beaches before the marathoners split off and travel into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. This unique, out-and-back style course is very flat, with only a few, gradual, rolling hills in the first ten miles. The Marathon and Half Marathon start near the corner of 54th Street and 1st Ave in downtown Kenosha, near the Kenosha Public Museum. Runners will run thru Harbor Park and past several newly built homes and storefronts. After a quick run thru downtown, the course will head south onto a four mile loop through residential neighborhoods, before returning downtown. The course will continue into Simmons Island Park, run along the lakefront, and head north to Carthage College before turning around and following the path back downtown. Once back into the residential area, the half marathoners will turn around and head back to Harbor Park for the finish, while the marathoners will continue south into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. While in Pleasant Prairie, runners will loop through the residential neighborhoods before turning around near the Prairie Harbor Yacht Club. On the way back, runners will get a chance to see several, unique beachfront houses. The final couple of miles will take runners back to Harbor Park, with a stunning final sprint along Lake Michigan’s coastline.
